Originally I had wanted to put Man'ka in with my girls to see if something "magical" would happen, but since his owner returned to town and took him back, that is no longer an option. So, after some careful thought on the matter, I decided that I wanted to get a male of my own to add in with my group. I contacted Julie at the Turtle Rescue of Long Island and submitted an adoption application, and on May 9, 2007 Yuri arrived after a lengthy cross-coutry journey from New York, and I feel very lucky to have him. He is still getting used to his new home, but is a very friendly and mellow tort who seemed to enjoy all the attention he got at my work on the day he arrived. Yuri has got some beautiful dark colors, which are a bit of a contrast to
all my girls, so in a few months after he's done with quarantine he'll
make a great addition to the group - and he'll also be the "Mac Daddy"
with 4 lovely ladies all to himself - oh yeah <BG>.
